Good Life has released a new analysis that reveals that the GOP health care overhaul will result in more people dying prematurely, lower life expectancy and an overall increase in costs for Americans.
In its new report titled “Deaths, Cost Increases, and Costs: The GOP Health Care Reform Package” the health care company looked at how much money the GOP plan would cost the United States over the next 20 years and compared the bill to the U.S. health care system.
The study finds that the Republican plan would add more than a trillion dollars to the nation’s overall health care costs over the same period.
According to Good Life, “the number of premature deaths would increase by a whopping 3.4 percent, with the average American family paying an additional $1,200 per year for each premature death.”
Good Life also found that premiums for people with pre-existing conditions would increase as well.
The report found that for people without pre-dispensable insurance, premiums would increase 10 percent to 16 percent, and premiums for the poor would increase 24 percent.
The company found that the number of people dying in the United Kingdom and Germany would increase about 20 percent each over the 20-year period.
