The good life is a life with good values and positive social dynamics, which is a great thing for all of us.
But the term doesn’t always apply to everyone.
The ABC’s The Good Life blog recently looked at the concept of a good Life.
In that article, the ABC’s Paul Kelly talked about the concept, with a theme of “a life that’s good enough”.
The ABC asked, what is a Good Life?
“It’s a life that is good enough, and good enough for you and your family,” Dr Leach said.
Dr Leach also said the concept can be used to describe a life where people are happy and fulfilled, where people work hard, where the environment is conducive to living a good and fulfilling life, and where there are opportunities for social interaction.
“If you’re good enough you can do what you want, you can make your own choices and pursue what you like, but if you’re not good enough that’s when you fall short of the Good Life,” she said.
“And you’re going to fall short because you’ve got a lot of bad things going on.”
Dr Leak said the term Good Life can be applied to people who are not living a life of good values.
“You might think you’re just good enough to live a good lifestyle, but it can be really hard to be good enough,” she explained.
“It might be a bad lifestyle that is very hard to live, and you might feel that you’re doing a good enough job, and so you might be satisfied and happy and you’re happy enough.”
In a similar vein, Dr Leak also said it’s important to remember that a person’s life isn’t always a good thing.
“I think that it’s OK to be happy and feel that good life,” she noted.
“But you can also have a bad life and feel bad about yourself.
So I think that is something to remember.”
Dr Paul Kelly’s Good Life article about the definition of a Good Live has been viewed more than 7.5 million times.
